The control oil system of steam turbine is completely separated from the lubricating oil system of steam turbine. A dual pump system is adopted. One is usually operating and the other is stand-by. The type of control oil pump is the variable displacement piston type, driven by AC motor.
They are installed beside the control oil tank. The control oil is discharged from the pump outlet, and flows through the line filter, stop valve and check valve. A part of control oil flows back to the control oil tank through the polishing filter and control oil cooling fan. The rest of it is fed to EH actuators of main stop valve and steam control valves after it is filtered through the last chance filter.

- Two 100% capacity AC motor-driven COP are operated alternately. (One for stand-by)
- The stand-by COP starts up automatically when the operating COP is tripped or the discharge pressure decreases under the LOW setting value (103 barg).
- If stand-by COP would not start automatically, start it immediately by manual push button.
Control Oil Accumulator
Function
To keep the control oil pressure when a large amount of control oil would be momentarily used for EH actuators in case of large load reduction etc.
Note
- This accumulator is bladder type, same type as the one for lube oil system.
- It shall be necessary to check the pressure of accumulator periodically for keeping the controllability of steam turbine.
- If the pressure would be less than the lower limit, charge N2 gas to accumulator up to the permissible range.
